M. Sinclair's Mer-Mazing Book Awards Mini Interview

"Which of your characters do you relate the most to and why?"

"As an author, I think a little piece of your personality ends up in each of your characters along the way! If I had to pick one though it would most likely be Vegas from The Red Masques. It was one of my first series so I was a bit unformed as a writer overall. Her internal monologue and how she handles situations is closer to how I would react to things in daily life!"

"How do you celebrate your book releases?"

"Write. I know that sounds ridiculous but I get really nervous on release day and if I don't shut myself in the writing cave, I will hyper focus on every review and rank. So usually I will spend time with the family or spend the time writing something for fun!"

"What was the hardest scene for you to write?"

"Oh! This is a difficult one. I would say that the hardest scenes I've written have come from Maya's or Lorcan's series. Both women have dealt with so much and their flashbacks, PTSD, mental health struggles, and current problems create a lot of emotional situations that I sometimes have to step back from just to refocus."

"What do you love about being an author? Do you have any favorite memories since becoming one?"

"There are so many elements that I love. First, I get to spend every day crafting stories for my readers and diving into worlds that would normally just be stuck in my head. Second, as a business/brand owner, I get to craft my schedule around my life and focus on priorities like my family and my own well being. It is an amazing opportunity that I am incredibly grateful for. In terms of memories, my most recent trip to a conference in Las Vegas was so fun, especially while meeting so many amazing authors!"

"What is your favorite genre/trope to write? Are there any genres you plan to delve into in the future?"

"Probably PNR RH - I love shifters and anything else that includes sexy growly men LOL. And yes! I would love to dive into Fantasy and PNR M/F romance!"
